Another major attraction that can be found in the White City is undoubtedly the Centennial Zoo Park, located on Itzáes Avenue, in the city of Mérida.
In this place, visitors can find a variety of animals, including mammals, birds, and reptiles, among which lions, giraffes, zebras, fish, tigers, and monkeys stand out. Some of these species are under special protection due to being endangered.
It was created as part of the commemorations of the 100th anniversary of Mexico's independence in 1910, under the name of Independence Park, which later changed to the name it is known by to date, Centennial Zoo Park.
The visiting hours are from Tuesday to Sunday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and admission is free.
